Community Involvement
inspirED Foundation Fellows is a two-year, cohort-based leadership program specifically designed for teachers to:
- Build collective teacher efficacy
- Enhance leadership qualities
- Encourage innovation that positively impacts student achievement
The goal of inspirED is to bring together teachers with an array of experiences, backgrounds, and skill sets that share a common desire to use those skills to benefit students and improve outcomes.
Recognize Talent
Our Fellows are the rock stars of education! We will ensure they feel like it, and we will make sure the world treats them like it. After a rigorous selection process, our fellows will:
- Receive multiple city, county, and community commendations
- Attend various functions, dinners, sporting events, festivals, and concerts throughout the community during their two-year term
Reward Talent
inspirED Fellows will receive financial benefits and perks. The benefits and experiences will include:
- $10,000 annual stipend
- A 21st-century classroom renovation
- Various promotional items and clothing
Refine & Develop
Students in teacher fellows’ classrooms will receive visits FROM LEADERS, ATHLETES, PERSONALITIES, etc. who are recognizable and well-known in Atlanta or nationally. This is an essential component of the fellowship for two reasons:
- It will add to the number of caring adults who are involved in students’ lives and interested in their well-being. This supports the district’s hope-creating and strengths-based strategies.
- It will help teachers feel appreciated and elevate the perception of the teaching profession. When teachers see that “celebrities” value their work, it improves their feeling that they are a valued professional in society.
